Storage and removals
in Ashford,
done properly.

We store more than we move, which is unusual for a removals firm and the reason this page leads with it. Containerised storage collected from your door, business and vehicle storage, and house moves across the TN postcodes when you need them.

Most people want

Containerised storage

We collect, inventory and seal it at your address. You book a redelivery. No driving, no padlock, no lifting.

Some people want

A self-storage unit

A room you rent and reach whenever you like. Better if you need constant access — and we will say so.

One firm, both jobs

Storing and moving are the same skill done at different speeds. The crew who wrap your things for storage are the crew who deliver them.

SEALED ASHFORD
  • Careful handling, wrapped before it leaves the room
  • Fully planned — we survey before we quote
  • Across TN23–25, and into Europe from the M20

Ashford moves, handled with care

A borough that has doubled in size in a generation has an unusual mix — Victorian terraces, Wealden villages and brand-new estates within a few miles of each other. Here is what we actually think about first.

01Why storage first
Ashford has grown faster than almost anywhere in Kent, and growth produces gaps — a chain that slips between a Chilmington completion and a town-centre sale, a rental ending before the next one starts, a house being extended. More people here need somewhere to put things than need a van on a Tuesday, so that is what we built around.
02Town-centre terraces
The Victorian streets off Beaver Road and around Newtown have narrow halls, steep stairs and a one-way system that decides where a vehicle can legally wait. Loading is a shuttle rather than a reverse-up-to-the-door, and that is planned at survey rather than discovered on the morning.
03The new-build estates
Chilmington, Finberry, Repton and the Kingsnorth side. Sensible doorways, modern layouts, drives to park on — genuinely the easiest houses in the borough to move into. The two catches are estate roads that are still unfinished, and first-time buyers underestimating how much a garage holds.
04Village and oast-house moves
Out towards Charing, Westwell, Wye and Brook. Period cottages with low beams and stairs built for smaller furniture, the occasional listed frontage, and lanes where a full-size vehicle needs deciding on in advance. Oast houses in particular reward a survey — the round rooms are charming and unhelpful.
05The M20, the A28 and the level crossings
Junction 9 and 10 put most of the borough within easy reach, which is why Ashford works as a base. What catches people out is local rather than strategic: the Wye level crossing, the A28 through the town at school time, and the station approach on a weekday morning.
06The Channel on the doorstep
Ashford International and the M20 run straight to the tunnel at Folkestone and the port at Dover. For a move to France, Spain, Italy or Portugal that is a genuine advantage — the load is at the crossing while a firm starting further inland is still crossing the country.

Where we work

Ashford & the TN postcodes, village by village

We cover Ashford and its surrounding villages — TN23, TN24 and TN25, out to Charing and Wye and as far as the Wealden edge. We are a town firm under the Kent county umbrella, so we will not pretend to own Folkestone or Dover.

  • Ashford town centre

    TN23 / TN24

Victorian terraces off the Beaver Road and Newtown sides, flats above the town-centre shops, and a one-way system that decides where a vehicle can legally wait. The station end gets busy on a weekday morning.

  • Kennington

    TN24

North of the Stour and the single busiest patch for smaller jobs. A mix of interwar semis and later infill, mostly with drives, and mercifully easy to park on compared with the centre.

  • Willesborough

    TN24

East of the town towards the M20 junction. Terraced and semi-detached streets, the odd narrow rear access, and the windmill as everybody’s landmark for directions.

  • Kingsnorth & Finberry

    TN23

The southern growth belt. Newer estate housing with drives and decent approach roads — straightforward to load, though the estate roads themselves can be a maze if you have not been before.

  • Chilmington & Repton

    TN23

Ashford’s big new-build areas. Sensible doorways, modern layouts and space to park. The complication is usually the other end of the move rather than this one, and sometimes an unfinished road surface.

  • Charing & Westwell

    TN25 / TN27

Village country along the foot of the Downs. Period cottages with low beams and narrow stairs, occasional listed frontages, and lanes where a full-size vehicle needs thinking about in advance.

  • Wye & Brook

    TN25

Across the Stour towards the Downs. Older village housing, tight lanes, and a level crossing that will hold you up at exactly the wrong moment. Beautiful, and slower than it looks on a map.

  • Tenterden & the Weald

    TN30

The edge of what we call local — the Wealden end, reached down the A28. We cover it happily; it is simply further, and the quote reflects the run rather than any difficulty once we arrive.

Just beyond us: Folkestone and Dover on the coast, Canterbury to the north-east, Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells westward — all covered properly by other firms. More on our patch.

The Channel on the doorstep

Removals from Ashford into Europe

Ashford is about as well placed for a European move as anywhere in Britain. The M20 runs straight from junction 9 to the tunnel at Folkestone, and the port at Dover is barely further — a load leaving a TN address is at the crossing before most firms have cleared the M25.

We also collect from London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Bristol when a household is spread across more than one address before it leaves.

How the European moves work

Good to know

Before you ring us

The questions that come up on almost every first call about storage or a move in Ashford.

Containerised storage or a self-storage unit — which do we need?

Ask yourself one question: do you need to get at your things while they are stored? If yes, rent a unit — you get your own key and you come and go. If no, containerised is almost always better, because we collect from your door, inventory and seal everything at your address, and nothing is handled loose in between. Most people who ring us asking for a unit actually want the second thing.

Are you in Ashford, Kent or Ashford, Surrey?

Kent — TN23, TN24 and TN25, the town with Ashford International and junctions 9 and 10 of the M20. There is another Ashford near Staines in Surrey and searches confuse the two constantly. If you are looking for that one, we are not it.

What does storage in Ashford cost?

It depends on how much there is, how long you need it, and whether you want containerised storage or a unit. Volume is the main driver, and people consistently underestimate it — a three-bed house takes more space than the same house looks like it should. We would rather look at what is going than quote against a guess.

Which villages do you cover?

Ashford town and the TN postcodes around it — Kennington, Willesborough, Kingsnorth, Finberry, Chilmington, and out to Charing, Westwell, Wye and Brook. We reach Tenterden and the Wealden edge too. We do not cover Folkestone, Dover, Canterbury or Maidstone; those are other firms’ towns.

Do you do removals as well, or only storage?

Both, and the same crew does both. Storage is simply the bigger half of what we do here, which is why it leads. House moves, man and van, and office moves across the TN postcodes are all part of it, and plenty of jobs are a move with a storage gap in the middle.

Can you store things at short notice?

Often, and it is worth ringing rather than emailing if a completion has just moved. The variable is warehouse space at that moment rather than crew, so we can usually tell you quickly whether it is possible.

Tell us what you need storing or moving — we’ll tell you which.

How much there is, roughly how long you need it for, and whether you want to get at it. Those three decide whether containerised storage or a self-storage unit is the right answer for you.
